This includes information for both parents and teachers.

Student Information

To provide our services, we collect information about students, which is provided by parents or teachers. This includes names, date of birth, class assignments, medical notes, photos, progress reports, and milestone tracking. This information is only shared between the authorized parent and the assigned teacher/school administrators.

User-Generated Content

We store information you generate within the app, such as absence notifications, messages between parents and teachers, announcements, and activity details. This data is essential for the app's functionality and is shared only with the relevant parties within your school community.

Device and Notification Data

We may collect your push notification token (e.g., OneSignal Player ID) to send you important updates such as new messages, announcements, or absence reports. We may also collect information about your device type and operating system to improve application performance.

How We Use Your Information

Having accurate information permits us to provide you with a smooth, efficient, and customized experience. Specifically, we use information collected about you to:

  • Create and manage your account.
  • Facilitate communication between parents and teachers.
  • Provide teachers with tools for generating progress reports and tracking student milestones.
  • Allow parents to submit absence notifications and receive updates.
  • Send you push notifications regarding your child's activities, school announcements, messages, and other relevant information.
  • Monitor and analyze usage and trends to improve your experience with the Application.

Data Deletion Request

You may request the deletion of your account and associated data at any time. This includes your profile, your children's profiles, and all associated content you have created. Upon receiving a deletion request, we will remove all personal and student data from our active databases. This action is irreversible. We do not retain backups of deleted data. To request data deletion, please email us at admin@kiddoconnect.co.za from the email address associated with your account, with the subject line "Data Deletion Request".

Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. We leverage secure cloud infrastructure provided by Firebase to store your data. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.
